Commercial and Business Disputes

Texas Business Law Firm with Extensive Experience in Business and Commercial Litigation and Appeals

Representing both plaintiffs and defendants, Lewis Law Office, P.C. (and firms previously owned, in part, by Jim Lewis) handles all varieties of business and commercial litigation, including disputes involving:

  • Stock Fraud
  • Corporate Fraud
  • Breach of Fiduciary Duty
  • Warranty Disputes
  • Contract Disputes
  • Unfair Competition/Deceptive Trade Practices
  • Insurance Code Violation cases
  • Breach of Contract, and more

Among the more successful results achieved was a $7 million award in a breach of contract matter by a firm previously owned, in part, by Jim Lewis. We have also won numerous cases at trial for corporate clients sued by other companies. After being involved in over 100 trials and appeals, whether business law and personal injury or other kind of case, we have devoted our full energies to litigation and appeal. We often collaborate with other lawyers to combine resources and achieve excellent results. The details of the settlements and verdicts are contained on the results pages, including the fees, expenses and net recovery for each client.

Reasonable Fees

We are proud of our impressive results and believe that by sharing the risk with our clients we will maintain continued success. We offer many types of fee arrangements ranging from hourly rates, flat-fees for specific tasks, and various contingent fee agreements. We charge reasonable hourly rates and determine the fee plan on a case-by-case basis.

We also employ creative fee agreements in some cases. This entails the client paying reduced contingency fees and some litigation expenses, while our firm pays other expenses and then receives payment in the settlement.

We approach our cases as investments of both money and energy. Our firm has the resources to assemble very large-scale cases, and will readily do so to maximize an eventual settlement or verdict. We also invest a huge amount of work and time in each case, which we believe is the key to success in litigation. Depending on the case, we may joint-venture it with another law firm or associate other counsel to maximize the potential recovery for each client. Results vary from case to case.
